The unspectacular building on 30th Street with its late 60’s inspired decor, friendly bartenders and luscious sunken living room known as AIR CONDITIONED is now home to the most spectacular 80’s night San Diego has ever seen since…well…the 1980s!
Steve West and DJ SG join forces on Wednesday night to spin everyone’s favorite alternative 80’s which are not played on the radio. Dying to hear Depeche Mode, The Clash, Simple Minds, The Cure, ABC, The Church, Joy Division, Yaz, Talking Heads all in one place? We’ve got it every Wednesday beginning at 9pm.
Born and raised in the UK. Steve West has had years of experience in both radio and high-energy dance clubs in both Europe and the US. He was spinning vinyl in clubs before CDs were invented. Steve has also been at the forefront of Alternative radio, having been at 91X since its inception in the 80’s. His music collection is extensive, his music knowledge is broad and quite often you can give him an obscure lyric and he will tell you not only the song and artist but what year it was released.
For the past ten years, audiences have grooved to the sounds of SG, whether it was through rocking two turntables or by releasing mixtapes and CDs. With the encouragement of his closest friends, SG spent long hours perfecting his skills so that one day he could spin at nightclubs much like the idols he admired in his earlier days. Nowadays, you can find SG spinning at the top San Diego nightclubs venues doing what he’s always done best, moving the crowd.
