Top 5 Awesome Songs No One Else Seems To Like But Me

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

It’s tough to please everybody in the club, that’s for damn sure. There are a lot of moments where I think a song is internationally hot and I get über-excited to drop it in the mix, only to have everyone in the club look at me as if I passed some serious gas. Let’s take a look at my favorite songs that seemed to create such a reaction.

5. Another Bad Creation - “Iesha”

Who loves New Jack Swing? *raises hand* Anybody? New Jack Swing was that style of music that was basically R&B artists dying to be hip hop without completely rapping. You might remember the style from such songs like Bel Biv Devoe’s classic club banger “Poison” or Boyz II Men’s mini-bio-song “Motownphilly.” New Jack Swing gives you that itch to do the “Running Man” and the “Roger Rabbit,” if you catch my drift.

That being said… no one seems to care when I throw down “Iesha.” I mean.. it’s like the same exact beat as the songs I mentioned above… and it was pretty popular. I mean.. Another Bad Creation even gets a shoutout in “Motownphilly” when the Boyz call out, “Boyz II Men, A.B.C., B.B.D…. ”

Why It’s So Awesome: It’s the same thing as “Poison,” but with kids! It’s funky, fresh, AND CUTE!
